We are currently recruiting for the position of Infection Control Nurse to join our Infection Prevention and Control team.
This post offers a unique and interesting opportunity for an exceptional candidate to join an expanding Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team to ensure service delivery takes place in clean safe environments. The team is professional, friendly and dedicated to providing a high-quality IPC service by focusing on the key priorities for acute and primary care in relation to infection prevention and control in line with the Health and Social Care Act, 2008 (Code of Practice on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance).
The Infection Prevention and Control Nurse (IPCN) will work with both the acute IPC team to support with provider meetings and investigations and the primary care IPC team with general dental and medical practice audits across London. This will assist in ensuring compliance with IPC standards consistent with current guidelines.
The post holder will work collaboratively with primary and secondary care organisations ( Acute providers, GP, dental, pharmacy & optometry), NHS England commissioning managers and other external organisations including CCGs and CQC, and thus the successful applicant will have highly developed communication and customer service skills.
This is a unique development opportunity. Applicants must be a nurse registered with the NMC with experience in an IPC position in an NHS Trust, be educated to MSc level or equivalent or be willing to undertake further study as necessary. The successful applicant will demonstrate an understanding of the NHS policy agenda and drivers for improving care within IPC, as well as evidence of continuous professional development.
