About Haringey's Health

Haringey is an exceptionally diverse and fast-changing borough with a population estimated to be just over 267,000. Almost two-thirds of our population, and over 70% of our young people, are from ethnic minority backgrounds, and over 100 languages are spoken in the borough. Our population is the fifth most ethnically diverse in the country.

Life expectancy is rising generally, in line with national trends, however health inequalities between men and women, and people living in the West and East of the borough remain stark.

People living with long term health conditions such as diabetes, respiratory disease and heart disease is also quite prevalent in Haringey.

The Acute Commissioning & Performance Improvement Directorate plays a key part in the successful delivery of this vision. We have a fantastic opportunity to join the directorate where you will be working with an ambitious team who lead on making sure the system performs well and supports better patient care. Our team are responsible for a number of high priority delivery programmes such as performance improvement, winter resilience and strategic planning. All of these are pivotal to local care system improvement.

We are NHS Haringey and Haringey Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG). We are a high performing, forward thinking organisation with responsibility for planning, buying and monitoring local hospital, mental health and community services. We are made up of 33 member practices in Islington and 37 in Haringey serving a population of around 496,000 people. We are led by an ambitious clinical and management team, committed to tackling some of biggest health challenges to improve the health and wellbeing of residents in North London.

About the role

This role undertakes performance analysis, performance and project reporting, outcomes reporting and bespoke analysis, developing in-depth knowledge for a range of services. The post-holder will advise stakeholders of the impact of initiatives on performance trajectories, making sound use of the information (data or otherwise) available and effectively communicate complex statistical and analytical information to non-technical colleagues and team members across partner organisations.

This role requires strong information skills, underpinned by theory and practice, the handling of sensitive data, automating data processing and data presentation and interpretation. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required, as the post holder will work closely with commissioners and clinical/non clinical colleagues across a range of organisations.

The post holder will have a sound understanding of complex informatics issues, including the Specialised Services Identification Rules, SUS data, clinical codes, payment by results and HRGs, and have the ability to synthesise information from a range of functions, including financial, clinical and epidemiological variables.
