North East London (NEL) POD is a single amalgamation of what used to be the BHR and WELC PODs. The POD has been designed to support the evolving needs of ELHCP operating model to ensure we are aligning our services to meet the needs of our customers. We are excited about our future as a team and enthusiastic about discovering new and innovative ways of working together. We thrive to deliver exceptional services in aiding positive health outcomes for patients within the North East London region, through our continuing support to the 7 CCG’s across the North East London Commissioning Alliance. 

We are currently recruiting for the position of Finance Assistant to join our Acute MDT – Finance Team.  As the Finance Assistant you will assist the Acute MDT in administrating the financial reporting of acute healthcare spend across the 7 CCGs of ELHCP.

The Finance Assistant will ensure the accurate reporting of appropriate budgets and the analysis of variation from budgets are monitored, along with the processing of NCA’s.

You will also assist the Acute MDT team in the production of monthly management accounts and reports. The post-holder will assist the Account officer in calculation of year end and month-end accruals; and reconcile accounts as directed as well as assisting with query discrepancies with leads as appropriate.

The successful applicant will assist in the quarterly balances exercise and returns and, in the preparation of budget setting and forecasts as well as  contribute to policy and process improvement to maximise departmental efficiency.  You will also contribute to the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures and internal/external KPIs.

The post-holder is required to follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in their work and take responsibility for maintaining their personal training in the use of SOPs as part of their annual training and development plan. Thus, working flexibly across Pods (as and when the need arises) in situations not limited to absence cover, project work, covering maternity leave etc
