Camden CCG - Working with the people in Camden to achieve the best health for all.

Camden Clinical Commissioning Group is an ambitious membership organisation (made up of 38 General Practices), using clinical leadership to drive improved quality and value to patients across all our Commissioned services.

Our Mission is: to lead the development of the local healthcare system with our partners and the people of Camden, to ensure access to and the delivery of safe, effective and responsive service that reduce inequalities, meet identified needs and ensure maximum positive health impact within the resources available.

Camden is home to one of London’s most visited tourist attractions: the markets, streets and shops that have grown around Camden Lock and its associated music venues. Camden as a Borough is diverse, containing both Hampstead Heath and its famous swimming ponds and the housing estates of Sommers Town. Camden has the second highest rates of mental health need in the UK and the major causes of death are Cancer and Cardio-Vascular Disease.

Our intention is to shift commissioning in Camden to be focused on improved patients outcomes and experience per pound spend and we will be working to see how commissioning can support this process. The safety and quality of services is a key concern.

As well as the day to day commissioning activities associated with our four major providers, the CCG has four key change Programmes in place. These are: Chronic and Complex Care, Primary Care, Prevention and Clinical & Cost Effectiveness. Camden has a robust financial situation and is using this opportunity to implement the change needed to NHS systems to ensure long-term sustainability.

The CCG agreed a  Business Plan in 2015 that sets out our priorities over the next three years. Camden has a robust financial situation and is using this opportunity to implement the change needed to NHS systems to ensure long-term improvements.

Camden CCG is a dynamic, clinically-led membership organisation made up of 35 member practices serving residents in a diverse and vibrant borough of London. The CCG’s vision is to work with the people of Camden to achieve the best health for all.

The organisation is committed to great communication and engagement with our local population to understand and meet their needs, and to working closely with our members and local health partners to deliver the best healthcare for everyone in Camden.

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Communications and Engagement Manager to join our team and play a leading role in delivering this aim.

You will responsible for creating campaigns and projects that support the effective delivery of the CCG annual communications and engagement plan. Your day will be fast-paced and varied, spanning media engagement, public awareness campaigns, GP member practice and stakeholder engagement, internal communications, public affairs and digital communications. You will play a leading role in growing the organisation’s online and social media presence.

You will have broad knowledge and in-depth understanding of communications and engagement techniques, approaches and procedures and experience of working with the media, health professionals, patients and the public. Forward-thinking, proactive and enthusiastic, you will be able to bring excellent interpersonal skills to the role, along with a professional, calm and efficient manner.

The CCG values its workforce and is committed to being a fair and inclusive employer. We recognise that employees are essential to the provision of high quality healthcare and we are committed to maintaining a working environment that promotes the health and wellbeing of our employees.
