Havering CCG is a membership organisation made up of GP practices across our borough. We commission safe, high quality health services – mainly hospital, community and mental health services. We have a small borough based team and also share a single management team with CCGs in Barking and Dagenham and Redbridge.

The Resourcing Team in North and East London CSU provides a hosted resourcing support service to the Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge CCGs.

Please note that all vacancies will be subject to a 6 month’s probation period in line with the CCGs Probation Policy.

Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge (BHR) CCGs are looking for a dynamic, proactive Head of Primary Care Transformation. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of working within primary care, experience of working at a senior level and the ability to manage a challenging workload. In addition the successful candidate should have a demonstrable track record of working with GPs, practice staff and other clinicians to deliver change and improve services for local populations.

As a collaborative of three CCGs, we commission services for over 775,000 patients, registered across 116 practices in outer north east London. The CCGs work closely with their GP federations, clinical leaders and Primary Care Network Clinical Directors, and as such the successful candidate will be expected to build strong professional relationships with key stakeholders; using a range of influencing skills to deliver against specific projects and workstreams. The successful candidate will take the lead primary care role for the London Borough of Havering, but will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with leaders in other boroughs.

Working in primary care means delivering in a fast paced environment, so the ability to manage competing projects within sometimes tight deadlines is essential. Strong planning and monitoring skills will be essential, as will demonstrable experience of championing innovation and commissioning for continuous improvement in health outcomes. Producing exceptional reports, with a high standard of report writing and an eye for detail; along with the ability to present complex information is also an essential pre-requisite for any successful candidate.

The successful candidate will have experience of engagement and co-design with patients and carers, and be able to demonstrate a strong ethos of putting patients at the heart of everything they do.

As the role is a senior leadership role within the primary care team, and has some line management responsibility, the post holder should be able to demonstrate an understanding of leadership, leading teams, exceptional motivational skills and aptitude to lead by example.
